After roaming inside the old Medina, you’ll find the world’s oldest university “Al Quarraouine” its is found by Fatima Al-and Fihriya in 859. Moreover it’s claimed by the UNESCO world heritage site that this university needs to continue functioning as an educational institution. There are also other schools like Madras Bouanania, El-Attarine and Koran schools for religious purposes. Then continue your way meandering in the 13th-century city walls soaking up the true feeling of being in the old ages, you will visit Moulay Idriss mausoleum and museums including Batha one of fine arts, and Nejjarine Museum an incredible one where you’ll discover wooden crafts and arts, traditional tools, musical instruments and carpets…

After a break for lunch in one of the hundreds of traditional restaurants in the Medina, continue your Fes Medina tour to the famous Tanneries quarter. In fact is the soul of Fes city’s leather trade. Here the exotic happens animal skins are soaked in giant pots where workers use just natural colors to manufacture high-quality leather products ( be aware of the bad smell in this place). Last but not least, drive outside the Medina up to the hill of Bab Fettouh cemetery and enjoy the panoramic view of the entire Medina.
