Itinerary

Fes – Cedar Forest – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga

Departing early from Fes with your professional driver and air-conditioned vehicle, you’ll begin to travel towards the Middle Atlas Mountains. Passing first through Ifrane Morocco’s winter ski resort with its exceptional French building design. We visit the Cedar Forests in Azrou for an opportunity to see the monkeys and play with them. Most of the day will be through the picturesque springs, forests, Berber village. Lunch will be at Midelt a Berber town renowned for rocks and fossils, then we carry on to Merzouga passing by a massive palm trees oasis (Ziz Valley), we will stop to admire the panoramic views. From there cross Erfoud and Rissani and begin to glimpse the huge dune of Erg Chebbi appear in the horizon. Arrive to Merzouga in the afternoon then put your luggage and after having your mint tea, we start our camel ride between the Sahara dunes. Finally we will reach the desert camp and get ready to climb the high dunes to watch the wonderful sunrise. Trek back to your desert bivouac, dinner will be served under the stars while enjoying the sound of drums played by berber people. Overnight will be in the Berber tents.

Merzouga – Tinghir – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley – Ouarzazate

After an early wake-up to watch the sunrise, we take a camel ride once again enjoying the beautiful scene to Merzouga. After an exhilarating breakfast and shower, we will leave for Tinghir a town of lush oasis that covers 30 miles of palm trees. Then we continue to the Todra Gorges our way through the stunning landscapes and Berber villages. Arriving at Todra gorges we will stop for lunch and have a short hike in this stunning deep canyon. From there we leave to Ouarzazate along the Thousand Kasbahs road that rise like turrets castles in the old caravan trading path. In fact this area is a popular location for Hollywood movies like The Last Temptation of Christ and Jewel of the Nile… Before arriving to Ouarzazate we will pass by the most romantic destination nestled along the Rose Valley and Dades valley where we will stop to glimpse the dramatic escarpment. We reach Ouarzazate in afternoon for dinner and overnight.

Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Tizi N Tichka Pass – Marrakech

After your breakfast in the hotel start the last day of 3 Days Fes desert tour. In the morning you will start by a visit to the Kasbah of Taourirt and the Cinema Studios; they are the famous and largest ones in Africa. From here we continue to Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah the largest and famous sand castle (declared UNESCO World Heritage). Besides this place is the scene for movies like The Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia and Babel. In the afternoon we will begin to travel through the Atlas Mountains via Tizi n Tichka pass (up to 2260 m above) and various Berber villages. Finally we arrive to Marrakech and return to your accommodation.
